Jason Hugh Mernick

Jason Hugh Mernick is a Los Angeles based artist. Mernick has been sculpting metal in California for several years. He lives in a rural suburb of L.A. and is highly influenced by the elements of nature that surround him.

Mernick works mainly with stainless steel, copper and aluminum. To cut and colour the metals, he uses torches and does all the bending by hand. Mernick refers to himself as a ‘Torch Painter’. With torches he heats the metal, producing a variety of colours that the artist manipulates and ‘paints’ with. His designs evolve and reveal themselves during the creative process. Mernick has said, “My art is like improvisational jazz, in that you can’t really predict the next note!”

All of Mernick’s art works are unique and one-of-a-kind. His pieces are suitable for indoor and outdoor display, and range form small pieces to major public installations.

Jason Hugh Mernick has evolved from being arguably the most successful street artist in the world. He now exhibits in the finest art galleries in North and Central America.
