Russell Brohier

Russel Brohier was trained in traditional photographic and dark room techniques and methods while attending the University of Toronto, School of Architecture in the early 1980s. Since then he has taken various courses and seminars in photography that contributed to his development as a photographer over this past twenty-five years. As a Visual Sociologist he is called upon to exercise his skills as a photographer. He has built upon a considerable body of work that he is working towards organizing for exhibition. However, he does consider himself to be self taught in both photography and painting in terms of composition and development of his esthetic.

Since the late 1990s he has taken various courses at the Ontario College of Art and Design for painting and drawing. These have honed his skills as an artist and carry over to his photographic work. He continues to take courses that will contribute to the self-development of his artistic life and career.
