Vector Core is Catapult’s cloud reporting platform for elite teams, streamlining performance analysis and replacing fragmented workflows. Since launch it has generated $2.68M in ACV and is central to Catapult’s shift to a unified cloud platform.

Process

Customer Journey Mapping: UX and product managers for hardware and software collaborated early to ensure a seamless transition from field data collection to web-based insights.
Prototype Testing: Iterative prototypes tested with sports scientists refined usability.
User Interviews: Analysts, coaches, and staff provided feedback on workflow pain points and feature needs.
Surveys & Customer Success Collaboration: Structured surveys and direct engagement with Customer Success teams refined the product based on real-world usage.
Design System Integration: Built out new and existing components, including a redesigned side navigation, to ensure consistency and scalability.
Cross-Team Design System Collaboration: Partnered with other designers and engineers to establish patterns and tokens used across all new products and features.

Usability testing informed design iterations and validated many of our assumptions. Our team conducted 3 rounds of interviews, and continues to meet with customers.

Solution (Key features)

Redefined Side Navigation: Introduced a new side navigation component serving as an activity selector, integral to both reporting and the editor. This allowed users to efficiently filter and navigate data, improving workflow efficiency and accessibility.
Multi-Mechanical Model: A new feature that analyzes training data to generate volume and intensity scores based on a player’s individual match demands. It compares session data to a baseline and provides quick insights in the form of single numbers for easy analysis.
User-Friendly Dashboards: Actionable insights for team and player performance.
Venue Creator: A streamlined feature for accurate venue setup, ensuring precise data collection and reporting.
Focus Importer Tool: Integrated video and wearable data, allowing analysts to connect tactical insights with granular performance metrics.
